Next July 5-8, 2018, the“City of Foligno” Study Center Association organizes the third edition of the Social Hackathon Umbria at the branch of the University of Perugia in Via Oberdan 123, in the historic center of Foligno (PG).
The first two editions of the event, sponsored in 2016 and 2017 by the Umbria Region and the Municipality of Foligno, represented an absolute novelty for the social context of the Umbria Region. The theme of #SHU2017 “digital cultural heritage” was able to attract over 250 attendees and 70 hackers at work for 48 consecutive hours to respond to three challenges in the field of valorisation of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Municipality of Foligno: Quintana 4D, Increased Tourism and Digital Public Art.
To underline the success of the event Altheo Valentini, creator and creator of the Event: "An extraordinary experience not only participated by the boys of Foligno, but which has aroused interest from many parts of Italy and which has produced six projects of the highest level that we must absolutely exploit".
Great satisfaction also from Mario Margasini, president of the Centro Studi Città di Foligno: “The products created in these days are not only interesting in terms of digital skills, but, above all, because they have been centered on the promotion of the territory. Therefore, these are suggestions that must now be socialized and modulated with local and regional programming”.
#SHU2018 WORK, PARTICIPATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Digital skills, initiative and entrepreneurship they represent some of the key skills most in demand by the world of work and, therefore, their acquisition is strongly promoted by the European Union for citizens of all ages and from all backgrounds. In 2018, now in its third edition, the Social Hackathon Umbria intends to respond to this priority by offering training courses of various lengths and formats, for the digitally curious or for aspiring hackers, which will take place starting from May 2018 and will end in the digital marathon of July 5-8 in Foligno, Italy.
At the same time as the training courses, a call for ideas will be promoted on three thematic areas: B-KIDS, B-YOUTHS And B-WORK. For each area, the two most relevant ideas will be selected and can then be developed by teams of up to 6 members led by an experienced team manager. During the 48 Hour Hackathon, the teams will be able to create a pitch, a prototype or a product to be presented in front of an international jury for the assignment of a digital prize with a commercial value of €100
