Program of the Days of Bevagna

All Members, aspiring Members and supporters of the Stati Generali dell'Innovazione Association are invited to Bevagna (PG) from 6 to 8 July for a three-day full-immersion in the greenery of the “Poggio dei Pettirossi” farmhouse. The goal is to exchange ideas and generate new ones together, keep up to date on new opportunities and technologies, think about one's future in the association, and, of course, relax by the pool, enjoy company and enjoy good food.

The program is structured as a drama in three acts. The first brings into play the creative right hemisphere of our association's connective mind in a Pirandellian recitation (see further on the page) on the topics most dear to the association and its future. In the second act we open ourselves to the outside, confronting ourselves empathetically with the themes and participants of the #SHU2018, organized by Egina srls, which also sponsors our event. Sunday 8 space left hemisphere for reasoning on ethics and analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of a technology on everyone's lips today: the blockchain.

Subject

The situation in Italy was now unanimously considered irrecoverable, when one day Icaro Vanieri emerged from his more than ten-year hermitage in the mountains to present to the world AK73M691, the first artificial intelligence capable of reverse-engineering dreams.

Confident in the absolute perfection of the algorithms he had codified with such loving meticulousness, Vanieri chose Italy as a demonstration test. Had he succeeded even there, no goal would have been unattainable.

Selected a handful of visionaries and experts from all over the world, he brought them together in a pleasant campaign to tell AK73M691 the shared dream of a paradisiacal Italy, which the newborn artificial intelligence should have transformed into a sustainable path towards reality.

But events took a completely unexpected turn.

If AK73M691 really existed towards which desirable daily future would we want it to lead Italy and all those who will inhabit it? What principles, values and knowledge would be essential to share with the newborn AI? What prejudices would you try to immunize her from? What skills – technological and non-technological –  would you teach them? What would be his ideal psychological profile?

In discussing the profile of the future Homo Virtualis in the Days of Bevagna we will certainly be able to satisfy our pleasure of intellectual confrontation and to share knowledge on some topics dear to the Association such as sustainable development, inclusion and digital citizenship, geospatial skills and digital cultural heritage, but above all we will be able to summarize in position papers (or maybe videos or even better infographics!) our theses on some topics that we consider essential and that we haven't communicated as we should for too long. Furthermore, we will also have the opportunity to discuss some concrete proposals for activities and surely others will emerge from the generative dialogue.

All this in an informal, pleasant and relaxed way during a three-day full immersion… in the pool.

What to do to contribute to the success of the initiative?

  1. If you have a large topic that you think is particularly interesting for everyone and that you believe requires a structured presentation of its essential concepts, prepare a presentation of max 12 minutes (4 slides). Send it to paolo.russo at statigeneralinnovazione.it by 3 July.

  2. If you have ideas that you find interesting, post them starting today or on the Members mailing list. An idea can be your original text, a link to your article or someone else's, a (short) video of yours or someone else's, a tweet... in short, anything.

  3. Fill out the questionnaire form.jotformeu.com/81283208924357 which contains some structured questions to help reflection on the functioning of SGI.

  4. Come to Bevagna! Even if for just one day you have made a valuable contribution to the discussion and enjoyed a beautiful day in a beautiful location.
