The Gran Sasso Science Institute is organizing the next 7 and 8 July in L'Aquila a hackathon to develop projects for products, services or visual representations that are useful, sustainable and replicable, capable of generating a significant impact on the ways of thinking, living and sharing the reconstruction and future development trajectories of the city of The Eagle and seismic crater territories.
Everything takes place on the occasion of Participation Festival and among the starting data there are those of the portal OpenDataReconstruction, inaugurated in December 2016 to collect, systematize and make available information relating to the investments made during the post-earthquake reconstruction process of April 2009.
The prize competition includes two tracks:
- track 1 – empowering APPs: web and mobile applications aimed at encouraging public participation in the reconstruction process, at encouraging the development of innovative activities for civic monitoring, for crowdmapping or other user generated content, for useful services for the revitalization of the city , including the development of new data processing routines and their integration into the OpenDataRicostruzione platform
- track 2 – revealing images and analysis: infographics, data-driven digital art, analyzes that highlight interesting relationships in the available data, useful for understanding the state and mechanisms of the reconstruction, as well as the opportunities or risks for the future development of the city.
You participate as a team and contributions are provided to cover the costs of participating in the hackathon, for residents outside the municipality of L'Aquila who request it, until the resources available for this purpose are exhausted.
