The Municipality of Ferrara takes up the challenge of open innovation and organizes the first hackathon on the topics of sustainable mobility and cultural tourism.
Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May software developers, graphic designers, communication experts, social innovators and innovators in general, organized in teams, will compete in a 24-hour competitive event aimed at developing new processes and innovative technologies dedicated to hackathon themes.
A thousand euro prize to the team that will be able to develop the best prototype of an application dedicated to Ferrara and developed on one or both of the topics in question.
The interventions of experts on the themes of cultural tourism and sustainable mobility that will alternate during the first day will be useful stimuli for planning, in addition to the suggestions that emerged from the first city co-planning workshop organized by the Basso Profilo association which was held on 17 December 2016, the results of which are published on the hackathon website.
The event, organized by the municipal administration with the collaboration of Città della Cultura / Cultura della Città, is part of the actions of the Local Digital Agenda, in harmony with ADER, the Digital Agenda of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
This activity is also part of the regeneration process of the former Verdi Theater as a place dedicated to open innovation and is meant to be a first test bench with respect to the involvement of talents who intend to invest their innovation skills in the city.
