Flavia Marzano, President of SGI, among the members of the Innovation Advisory Board for Expo Milano 2015.

Marzano: "Open Expo for a country that innovates".

The last meeting of the Innovation Advisory Board promoted by Milan Expo 2015. The work of the committee of experts and hi-tech specialists andinnovation, established last September, met in the presence of Minister of University Education and Research Francesco Perfume, and also sees among its members the President of the States General of Innovation, Flavia Marzano.

Four i strategic projects to be implemented for the Universal Exposition in Milan. They range from the Smart City project for L'Aquila, with services to support citizens and the environment, to technologies for disabled citizens, e-health and e-wellness for prevention, monitoring of the level of well-being and remote care to Smart Solutions for schools based on "edutainment" training techniques and technologies (Wiki and interactive whiteboards).

The meeting, directed by the engineer Valerio Zingarelli, Director of Technologies of Expo 2015 SpA, sees the applause of Minister Profumo who hopes for a "Close collaboration between Education and the Universal Exposition” and encourages investment in young people.

But will it be a traditional EXPO? According to Riccardo Luna not at all. Reading his "post”, when the CEO of Expo 2015 SpA, Giuseppe Sala, offered him the possibility of contributing to the success of this enterprise, Luna replied that a successful Expo2015 must be a Open Expo, because “theAbsolute transparency is the prerequisite for telling Italian citizens: we are really working for you and we have nothing to hide. What's more: it is a tool to help those who manage Expo against undue pressure from politics in hiring and possible underworld infiltration in tenders”. Proposal accepted by Sala, who chose Luna as project coordinator.
Flavia Marzano agrees, according to which "without transparency the trust decreases and without trust participation and involvement decrease” it was precisely from this point of view that the States General of Innovation was born: active involvement of all states and all stakeholders. This is why the Consulta was born, which will see its first meeting on 16 March next”.

During the meeting, Giuseppe Sala also presented i new members of the work table. In addition to Flavia Marzano, three other women of great professional importance, the scientists Ilaria Capua, director of the research and development department of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie, and Lucia Votano, director of the Gran Sasso National Laboratories of the National Institute of Physics Nuclear (INFN), the economist Loretta Napoleoni, world expert on terrorism.

Here the synthesis of the projects.
