The first “DevOps Competences for Smart Cities MOOC” kicks off on 19 October

The next October 19th the MOOC will start “DevOps Competences for Smart Cities” developed within the Erasmus+ Sector Skills Alliance KA2 project “DevOps competences for Smart Cities”.
It is a Free high quality training course, which allows participants to develop and acquire the essential skills needed to meet the challenges of managing and evolving smart cities.
The goal is to bridge the gap between today's and future skill demands of the municipal workforce by emphasizing the exploitation of emerging occupational paradigms such as DevOps.
Smart Cities are not just a concept or a dream of the future but a very dynamic and vibrant sector, which has seen impressive growth and an increase in job vacancies with promising prospects in recent years.

The project consortium has identified 3 profiles for Smart City DevOps professionals (Smart City Planner, ΙΤ Manager and IT Officer) and developed a VET curriculum that combines digital and transferable skills to train future Smart City DevOps professionals. The “Smart DevOps” MOOC offers:
• State-of-the-art curricula, developed and delivered by experts with high quality standards

• Participants who successfully complete the MOOC will have the opportunity to enroll in specialist training for Smart City Planner, Smart City ΙΤ Manager and Smart City IT Officer

What you will learn:
• New ways in which software is designed and distributed today and how this affects its development and distribution cycles
• Overview of the smart city ecosystem, including platforms, governance, business models and financial management
• Information on new technologies (Cloud Computing, IoT, Data Analytics)
