Digital Agenda for Europe welcomes the challenge of gender. A proposal for Agenzia Italia Digitale

It has been several years now that with the ECWT – European Center for Women and Technology we are actively working on integrating a gender dimension into theEuropean Digital Agenda. Since 2009 we have supported DG INFSO in promoting the Code of Good Practices to increase the role of women in ICT, signed by the largest companies in the sector.

A first position paper was presented by ECWT at a conference organized in Budapest on the occasion of 8 March 2011 by the European Commission: the European Center urged to align the European Digital Agenda to a gender perspective. This is the watchword, with the dual purpose of making the transversal gender reading in innovation policies, on the other to insist on strengthening women's digital skills, in the so-called 'weak' groups and in young people and, in general, for one development of advanced skills.
