La Quintana 4D live stream – #SCUD2018

As it approaches the conclusion of its first year of activity, the project “Quintana 4D – Widespread Didactic Digital Entertainment” reaches another of its milestones with the first live streaming via Facebook of a museum representation from the beautiful Brunetti-Candiotti palace in Foligno. To celebrate the event, after witnessing a “A singular coincidence: birth and rebirth of the Quintana carousel in Foligno”, viewers become actors and participate in an online Kahoot. The winner will receive a family package to attend the Giostra on 16 June, offered by the Ente Giostra della Quintana. The live broadcast is scheduled from 10:30 until about 12:00 on Tuesday 10 April on https://facebook.com/Quintana4D.

There are many good reasons to follow this live broadcast in particular and get to know the Quintana 4D project in general:
1. The story told is very nice and it's nice to watch. In addition, it is an opportunity to peek inside the beautiful Palazzo Brunetti-Candiotti, one of those many wonderful examples of Italian historical stratification that in a few meters makes us travel through the centuries from the door of the Roman decumanus to the late Baroque.
2. How will those who watch the live find out, today's Giostra della Quintana is an example of social innovation which was successful. The competition is very exciting, the procession is spectacular, but the city climate is by far the most remarkable element. The possibility of winning the hospitality package certainly allows you to live a beautiful experience.
3. Since we are innovators, never do something just because it is a pleasant and rewarding experience. Our conscience can be set right by the opportunity to observe a model of school-work alternation in the field of cultural heritage that is truly effective and productive. It is particularly useful for classical high schools, but in reality the qualifying point is the convergence and collaboration of the entire school system. Who helps to script the stories for the Quintana 4D museum company, who learns to welcome and assist visitors, who creates experiences in augmented reality, who designs period costumes digitally, who takes care of marketing, who carries out surveys and digitally recreates historic environments, those who contribute to the study for the energy efficiency of the historic buildings that act as a stage for the performances. Who takes the children of the kindergarten to have fun and learn at the museum-laboratory of Palazzo Brunetti-Candiotti. All with the support of the Municipality and organizations such as the Ente Giostra and the Centro Studi Città di Foligno, but also of amateur theater companies and volunteers from the districts. A fine example of participation and circularity where everyone gives and receives something thanks to the catalyst of school-work alternation.
4. The laboratory itself is interesting because it shows a sustainable example of creating new jobs for young people thanks to the invention of new professional profiles. The success of the business led Ente Giostra to invest in one "museum guide". It may be said that a job is not much, but it is hoped that it will be the first of many and in any case it is one more than those generated by so many unrealistic initiatives.
5. For those who are intrigued by two of the trendiest "buzzwords" of the moment, “augmented reality” and “virtual reality”, Quintana 4D is an opportunity to see not demos of technology for technology's sake, but simple effective and sustainable examples of their regular and continuous use integrated in an operational context.
