Editorial "Is the Digital Agenda being boycotted?"
After second meeting of the Permanent Consultation of Innovation, held on October 23rd in Rome, we launched on wiki the collection of proposed amendments to the Crescita 2.0 decree, above all (but not only) on the general strategy and on the themes of open government, electronic commerce and digital literacy. Most of the proposals were the basis of amendments presented to the Senate. The topic of start-ups, on which a review is needed starting from the definition of start-up itself, was shared with Gianmarco Carnovale of Rome Start-Up, who oversaw and prepared the specific amendments.
In the meantime, the examination in the Senate is proceeding (slowly) in the Budget and Industry Commissions, ed it is serious that at the moment all the innovative amendments on the most deficient points are systematically rejected. There seems to be a desire to boycott, in practice, the Digital Agenda, in order to produce a de facto law that is not applicable.
Several initiatives have taken place this month, including:
- the interventions at seminar on ICT and Over 50 within the European framework E-NLL, and at conferences Open the box, Smart City Exhibition, Open Government Summit, Nameless City - Urban Forests, the Italian-German workshop on Smart Cities;
- the launch of the NGO Transparency Manifesto, proposed as part of the policies we want to develop for Open Government e which we ask all organizations to adhere to recipients of this newsletter.
We have also definitively set the date and venue for the Annual Conference.
It will take place at Rome, at the headquarters of the CNR, on 4 February 2013. Soon we will communicate the program of the day.
