Parliament to the challenge of open data

It is a fundamental theme, so much so that many economists, headed by Bocconian Tito Boeri, have made it a battlefield issue for years: the accessibility of data, and in the right format. For scholars, a topic so crucial as to induce them to enter into controversy even with data temples such as Istat, which have lately adapted to the need of economists and sociologists to analyze numbers and statistics in detail. Now the statistical institute has turned into a veritable boon of "free" data. But in recent years the culture of open data, actually a major challenge for all citizens and not just for academics, has made great strides everywhere and has even forcefully entered the daily lives of many people.

Yesterday the third International Open Data Day was the occasion for a discussion on this fundamental aspect of the new frontiers of the web.
