The serious economic crisis underway worldwide, the repositioning of the strongest countries, the aggressiveness of emerging countries, the economic and financial tensions affecting the Euro area, are grafted onto the historical weaknesses of the production structure and the competitive capacity of our country, making Italy's situation particularly difficult.

It is urgent to restart a stable growth trend, necessarily fueled by the widespread development of innovation processes that are grafted into the productive fabric of our country, made up mostly of SMEs. It is therefore necessary to activate initiatives and interventions which, also starting from the territories, see the central players of the innovation chain as protagonists, the world of universities and research, the business world, with the involvement of the bodies responsible for support for research and innovation, with particular attention to SMEs.

The objective of the meeting is to create opportunities and facilities in the Lazio region for the activation of relationships and collaborative networks between the world of universities and research and SMEs and between SMEs with synergistic technological vocations, and to support and encourage the establishment and vitality of technological and academic spin-offs.
